About

I am a PhD student at the SMART Lab, Department of Computer Science and Engineering, Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, advised by Prof. Hao Chen. Prior to this, I obtained my BSc degree in Applied Mathematics from Harbin Institute of Technology (Weihai).

My research centers on building generalizable AI systems for computational pathology and biomedical intelligence, with a focus on large vision, vision-language, and multi-modal models that work reliably across diverse scientific and clinical settings. Specific directions include:

  • Pathology foundation models: building clinically validated and generalizable pretrained models for whole-slide image analysis and lung pathology interpretation (GPFM, Nature Biomedical Engineering; PulmoFoundation, Under Review)
  • Multi-instance learning: developing models that learn from collections of instances, identify task-relevant evidence, and produce robust slide-level / patient-level predictions under weak supervision for pathology diagnosis (FOCUS, CVPR 2025; Querent, ICML 2025)
  • Multi-modal learning: developing frameworks that align heterogeneous signals and transfer knowledge across modalities, with applications in computational pathology and computational neuroscience (HistGen, MICCAI 2024; BLEND, ICLR 2025)

In the meantime, I actively collaborate with clinicians and pathologists to translate developed models into real-world diagnostic workflows.
